The Trip of a Lifetime
Carlotta Prandi, the owner of Piedmont Tours, helped me plan a two-week trip of a lifetime! She arranged just about every aspect of the trip—airport pick up, hotels, train tickets, car rental, private city guides in Genoa, Turin and Venice (which is not in Piedmont)—and offered suggestions about restaurants, as well as arranging a truffle hunt and a visit to the Langhe wine region. The main reason for visiting Piedmont was to visit the birthplaces of my maternal grandparents (Castelnuovo Don Bosco and Cassine). With Carlotta’s help I found out the address of the home where my grandmother had grown up in Cassine. Everything went according to plan (other than missing one of my trains, my fault). Carlotta worked with us from the very beginning to learn about our preferences and our vision for our amazing trip to the Piedmont Region. After several conversations she crafted a perfect itinerary for us. She created a trip with just the right balance of activity level and pace as well as just the right combination of amazing lodging experiences. She kept us in the loop along the way, always asking additional questions for clarification of our vision. She offered experiences we had never considered. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the area, the people, the history, the food, and the culture and knew how to direct us to anything we needed or wanted. We opted to have her make all of our reservations which made our trip very comfortable and easy. We never had a worry. Everything was planned to perfection. She even assisted us in making dinner reservations as we got closer to the trip.
The level of detail that went in to the planning before the trip was exceptional. If that wasn’t enough the assistance and support that she offered us after we arrived was beyond helpful. Carlotta was such a fun person to spend time with on various tours. She is a delight. I suspect she would blend in to any group. She certainly did with ours. We had to beg her to spend more time with us because she was just fun to be with, besides being so helpful. We loved our time with her. She was easy to reach and always very responsive. She continued to make calls for us, adjustments to transportation and to reservations, etc. until the day we left. She made our trip easy, stress-free and seamless.

We had the most incredible tour as planned by Carlotta! She was so thoughtful throughout the planning process, for about six months before our vacation. Carlotta listened to the type of trip we wanted to have, then planned a beautiful and tailored itinerary that suited us to a tee. I said many times, “Wow, this really is perfect for us!” throughout the vacation. She also took care of reservations and helped us with many many last minute changes or questions the whole of our trip. In addition, Carlotta is just a lovely person - we had so much fun with her on the tours that she led. My favorite was the truffle hunt - Carlotta organized it for us and translated for the truffle hunter and also gave us a lot of insight into this component of Piedmontese culture and heritage. We loved the wineries she booked for us in Langhe and the accommodation was always ideal for our group.
